Suburban Dark - 1+0posted 20 january 2005
When Sydney producer Crinx Bonx asked me to design his debut album 1+0 I knew we would be pulling inspiration from darkest of night demon’s that feed on undetectable base frequency from the underground. Crinx visual concept was for dark warped suburban lands were people have evolved and are completely insane from living in a sunless environment. Politics, religion, social structure has diminished and people spend their days in a dark suburbia on a drug of music trying to make use of a technology they could once use.
At the time I started working on the project I was heavily influenced by life drawing. Integrating my life drawings figures with some dark photo's created some thought provoking and fresh imagery.
The life drawn figures create a really unexpected and uncomfortable 'vibe. I like their nakedness as it only heightens this tension and unpredictability of what is seen to be ‘Suburban Dark’. The album is set to be released in January 2006.
