The idea of printing out 100 CV’s and sending them off to 100 studios seems a bit old hat. I find websites to be a far more environmentally sound, and practical way of displaying work, if done well I feel they can be as effective as print. For this reason I have created a graphic expression of myself through an A1 poster to promote and lure potential clients and employees to my website. On the web they can explore my work further...
The illustration of the face in the middle of the poster is a self portrait of me (I have a smile on my face because I’m happy to see you). Doing this is a part of trying to bring my presence into a room.
On my forehead is my creative spirit/demon, I feel creativity is in everyone, it’s one of the reasons I invite clients or people I work with to express their thoughts as much they can, I feel everyone has the same creative potential we simply differ in how we can express it.
The “bonjour” speech bubble is in reference to my French heritage and my love and inspiration from international design such as studios like ‘HiRes’-London, ‘Shual Studio’s-Israel, but particularly French design studio ‘MM paris’ (responsible for most of the graphic and text imagery for Bjork)
The word ‘design’ was placed on the poster to reinforce the idea that basically I’m a designer, however the word ‘question’ is placed before it, I would like clients to question what exactly design is. I hope that if clients can think and question design we can, analyse tasks differently, work out concepts differently and implement ideas differently.

I love the idea of recycling design; we are given literally so much material to design with (just look outside) yet I feel many designers huddle round computers all day. Every angles or perspective that you look at an object can create a new experience of it; a blade of grass is simply beautiful with a light shown through it, even simply holding it against a blue sky. The poster has old buttons, tiles and stuff I simply found around my house to express this idea and for decoration. I’m in not against vector imagery or using CAD, I think their wonderful ; I tried to show this with a digital rose.
As a designer I stand for certain issues, environmental sustainability, dynamic thinking, artistic freedom, and community these themes are expressed in the poster.
The 6 crop circled artist’s in red and blue are some of the most renowned figures in art, they have inspired and effected my work and life in ways I can’t even comprehend. What I like about these people is not necessarily their skills or esthetic but their revolutionary perception of what art is and what it can be. From left to right:
-Marcel Duchamp: For his mystery, and his perception that art can be anything.
-Antonio Gaudi: His complexity and obscurity.
-Rene Magritte: His mad personality and simple clean aesthetic
-Frank Lloyd Wright: His sensitivity and integration of nature into design.
-Pablo Picasso: Establishing Surrealism
-John Cage: Rebellion and controversial compositions.
